Audit services for UAE companies

The audited financial statements your free zone asks for at renewal, the internal review your board asks for, and the preparation that keeps both from becoming an emergency.

The situation

Most audit problems are scheduling problems

An audit that starts three months before renewal is a process. One that starts three weeks before is an emergency with a premium attached — and it is usually the same audit.

The second recurring problem is records. An audit of a reconciled ledger is efficient; an audit of a reconstruction is not, and the fee reflects that.

What Aizaa does

We tell you what your licence and jurisdiction actually require, prepare the records and the supporting pack, coordinate with the auditor, and deal with the queries so the process does not stall on your desk. Where an internal review is what you need, we scope and run that instead.

Not sure where you stand? Ask us — a 15-minute call usually settles it.

What’s included

  • Confirmation of what your licence and jurisdiction require, in writing
  • Audit planning and a dated timetable working back from your renewal
  • Preparation of financial statements and the supporting schedules
  • Coordination with the appointed audit firm and management of queries
  • Internal audit scoping and fieldwork where that is the requirement
  • Management letter review and a practical remediation plan
  • Alignment with the corporate tax filing so the two agree

Who this is for

  • Free zone companies whose renewal requires audited statements
  • Companies whose bank, investor or parent requires audited accounts
  • Companies wanting an internal review of controls and processes
  • Companies that have never been audited and do not know what to expect

Who it is not for

We would rather say so now than three weeks in.

  • Anyone seeking an opinion that the records do not support

Process

How it works

Each step says what we do and what we need from you, so nothing stalls on an unasked question.

  1. Requirement check

What your zone, licence and stakeholders actually require — which is often less, or more, than assumed.

  2. Timetable

Dates worked back from renewal, with the document deadlines on it.

  3. Preparation

Records reconciled, schedules built, supporting documents assembled.

  4. Fieldwork

Auditor queries handled by us, with one consolidated request to you rather than a drip.

  5. Completion

Statements finalised and signed, filed where the authority requires it.

  6. Follow-up

Management letter points turned into a short, prioritised action list.

Documents you will need

Gather these before we start and the process runs roughly a week faster.

  • Trial balance and general ledger for the period
  • Bank statements and reconciliations
  • Sales and purchase ledgers with ageing
  • Fixed asset register
  • Loan, lease and related-party agreements
  • Payroll records
  • Prior-year audited statements, if any
  • Trade licence and constitutional documents

How long it takes

With reconciled records, a straightforward audit typically runs three to six weeks from appointment to signed statements. Where records need work first, add the clean-up time. Start at least three months before your renewal date.

What it costs

Audit fees depend on size, complexity and the state of the records. Our preparation and coordination fee is quoted separately and in advance, so you can see which part of the cost is ours and which is the auditor's. Well-prepared records reduce both.

What goes wrong

Common mistakes

These are the ones we are asked to unpick most often.

Starting in the renewal month

The same work, the same fee, considerably more stress — and sometimes a licence that lapses.

Assuming no audit is required because nobody asked last year

Requirements change and enforcement tightens. Check the current terms of your zone.

Letting the audited figures and the tax return diverge

They are looked at together. Reconciling them afterwards is the harder way round.

Ignoring the management letter

It is a free list of what will go wrong next year.

Answers

Frequently asked questions

Many UAE free zones require audited financial statements for licence renewal, and the requirement varies by zone. We confirm your specific position in writing rather than generalising — and if an audit is not required, we will tell you that too.

At least three months before renewal. That turns the audit into a scheduled process rather than a scramble, and it usually costs less.

An external audit produces an opinion on your financial statements for third parties — your zone, your bank, your investors. An internal audit examines your own controls and processes for your own benefit. They answer different questions.

They should reconcile, and differences should be explainable. Where they are prepared separately by parties who do not speak to each other, they often do not — which is exactly the situation that invites questions.

Requires verification Whether Aizaa signs audit opinions itself or coordinates with a registered audit firm, and any registrations held, must be stated accurately here before this page is published. We will not claim a registration we do not hold.
